We had a wonderful trip to Uganda. A big thank you to our hosts, Wake Up Ministries, for their help in organising a well attended event. We delivered the one day Kingdom Business Course and plan to return in September to train facilitators. Our aim is that the local team will take ownership of the message and begin delivering BizMin training in their region.
We also visited some of the businesses, run by those who attended the course, and took the opportunity to pray with them. It was lovely to discover one gentlemen sat in the shade diligently reading the notes from our training.
A friend from church recently recommended this excellent book to me. I commend it to you.
It is a wonderfully clear overview of how we all operate out of our cultural framework. The book introduces ‘the Belief Tool – a lens to identify, interpret, and respond to the cultures in new markets’. In my experience this applies in every market. We can all benefit from a greater empathy for the people we work with. It pays to know ourselves and perhaps more importantly those we are seeking to do business with.
The book is called The Culture Key by Curt G. Laird and is published by Xana Publishing. You can find out more at www.theculturekey.com
We are pleased to support Ark, an exciting new Kingdom Business that is set to refresh the nursery market with some exciting new innovations. If you are looking for an exciting investment opportunity please check out their investor teaser video: https://youtu.be/vLeA_EU0aeM
They would also welcome your prayers. It’s a real privilege to stand with a new generation of Christian entrepreneurs.
Here is a presentation by BizMin founder Paul Bulkeley on how he has developed his company, Snug Architects, into a successful business. The talk was given to the Royal Institute of British Architects. It explores the meaning of ‘success’ and how his Christian beliefs have inform his business practice.
