Project 500

WHAT is Project 500 – We are calling 500 business leaders to commit to doing business as ministry. What does that look like? Put simply, it means striving to do business God’s way, leading and enabling others to do the same.

WHO are we calling - We are calling Christian entrepreneurs. You may be the owner, leader or manager of a business; what the Bible calls a ‘master’. You will have the opportunity to influence the culture of your company and will have the responsibility of defining how your company does business.

WHY - We believe that one of the next great moves of God is going to be achieved through Kingdom Entrepreneurs, Christian business leaders who are prepared to do business God’s way.

WHY now and why 500? On the 31st of October 2017, it was exactly 500 years since Martin Luther began the Reformation. That is 500 years since Christians came to see that all believers are called to be fruitful in ministry. This revelation released a generation of Christian entrepreneurs who understood God’s purpose for their work. That great flame is today growing dim. It must not go out. We intend to fan the flames of those glowing embers such that a fire might again shine brightly at the heart of business.

Our vision is to call and equip a generation of Christian entrepreneurs who are prepared to do business as ministry. We want to begin with 500 pioneers who will commit to making their business a ministry.

Our commitment is to help resource you for this task. In our experience, being a Christian and in business is not enough. Like all areas of the Christian life we must be equipped to do things God’s way. Only then will we be fruitful. Over the coming year we will be releasing a range of resources that will encourage and equip you to understand both God’s plan for your business and how to do business as ministry.

Join with us and become a BizMin 500 entrepreneur.

Project 500 is about a commitment. A commitment to embark on an adventure that will change the way you do business and, in time, the culture of your company.  To that end we have created the BizMin code, ten commitments that will provide a moral infrastructure to the way you do business. They will help you transform your business into a fruitful ministry. These are the standards of conduct and practice expected of a Kingdom Entrepreneur. Project 500 is about committing, in God’s strength, to uphold these ten standards. They are:

1. I will strive to do business as ministry, recognizing that God has taken hold of me, and my company, for His glory.

2. I will regularly read the Bible, actively seeking to discover how to do business God’s way.

3. I will respectfully make it known to colleagues, customers and competitors that I am a Christian, confidently revealing my values to them.

4. I will trust God for my daily provision, regularly taking my business to God in prayer.

5. I will seek to ‘love my neighbor’ in and through my work.

6. I will be extravagantly generous with all that I receive.

7. I will pay my debts promptly and show grace to my debtors, recognizing that we reap what we sow.

8. I will work hard and, in faith, take rest each week.

9. I will strive to bring all areas of my business under the authority of Christ.

10. I recognize that I cannot achieve in my own strength. I recognize my need of the Holy Spirit and will seek to connect with and be supported by others in achieving the task of transforming my business into a fruitful ministry.

By committing to the BizMin code, you will be taking a bold step along the path of transforming your business into a fruitful ministry; you have embarked on a noble quest. Our hope is that together, as we seek to do business God’s way and become champions of Biblical business, we will see a great move of God in the marketplace.

Not that I have already obtained all this, or have already arrived at my goal, but I press on to take hold of that for which Christ Jesus took hold of me.  Brothers and sisters, I do not consider myself yet to have taken hold of it. But one thing I do: Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead,  I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus.’ Philippians 3.12-14. We hope that you will join with us and become a change agent in your industry. Our aim is that together we will establish a collective witness that will ‘win the respect of outsiders’ and, in time, transform the culture of business for the glory of God.

Over the coming months we will do our best to equip and encourage you in this task. We will be releasing a range of resources to support and encourage you in this great task, exploring how business can become a ministry, and unpacking each of these commitments in detail.

To get this adventure underway we would like to send you a FREE copy of ‘The Kingdom Entrepreneur.’ This is what we believe to be the most succinct exposition of the perfect career in business. It is an exposition of a passage from the Bible. It follows the whole career of a businesswoman who did business God’s way. She is a wonderful role model. We hope you will find it both helpful and inspiring. It is a great place for us to begin our quest.
